& OUTLAW ART MUSEUM
The Clayton Gallery & Outlaw Art Museum reopened on November 14, 2016 at 161 Essex Street on the night of the greatest Super Moon since 1948 - the year Clayton Patterson was born.
After nearly 10 years of being closed to the public, the Gallery opened it's doors again with the same dynamic team who brought you the $16 Burger Show (DAMEHT!)
The first exhibit displays artwork from Patterson's extensive archive. The storefront showcases the first 10 designs from the Clayton Cap Reissue project as well as original patches, books, and prints.
The Clayton Cap, founded in 1986 by Clayton Patterson and Elsa Rensaa, changed the style and the look of the American baseball Cap forever. They first sold their Caps from this very storefront and over the years exhibited their own art as well as the work of a diverse range of artists in the Outlaw Museum including Dash Snow, Taylor Mead, Boris Lurie, Charles Gatewood, tattoo artist Spider Webb, Baba Raul Canizares, Jerry Pagane, Baldo Diodato, Manwoman, Cochise, Peter Missing, Jim Power, Elsa Rensaa, Efroim Schneider, Tom deVita, Bill Heine, Anne Ardolino, Art Party Pravda and many others.
